Literally Just Weeds (LJW) is a contract-free garden maintenance service, operating by request and appointment only. LJW values the connection we as humans share with the Earth, particularly through our ancient practices of having and tending to healthful gardens.Â

LJW supports the informed employment of natural, holistic gardening practices such as wildlife habitation, rewilding lawns, composting, fallen-leaf mulching, curbing invasive plant species, and encouraging the propagation of native plant species. We believe that weeding is an inextricable part of gardening and hold a deep appreciation for the cyclical nature of... well, nature!
Our Methods
Literally Just Weeds uses simple weed removal strategies intended to maintain as natural a relationship to the Earth and plants as is possible in cultivated gardens.

LJW does not use any chemical herbicides or pesticides, flame torches, or other methods of weed control that we believe adversely affect environmental health and soil viability. LJW does not utilize weed-eaters or other power equipment.

LJW works primarily by hand and with hand tools, removing sprouted weeds as well as their attached root structures. Occasionally, hoeing might be utilized for exposed areas with many small weed sprouts, the bigger weeds picked out by hand and the other bits recycled back into the soil.
